Southwold U14's suffered a close defeat in the third Suffolk Plate match, prior to the gme Stowmarket and Southwold were level on two wins from two after the first two rounds of matches. Wold knew this would be hard match as Stowmarket were yet to concede a point and the Wold matchday squad had once again been hit by injury.

Stowmarket started fast and were putting a lot of pressure on the Wold defence but they stayed strong and pushed back hard. Stowmarket scored first and this was converted to lead 7-0. This Wold team has amazing spirit and the latter part of half belonged to them as they pushed for the equaliser which came when Freddie L burst hrough and then converted himself so that at half time much to the surprise of the hosts the scores were level.

The half time talks could not have been more different Wold calm and collected, Stowmarket surprised by the score and organisation of the Wold team was a little bit animated. Stowmarket started fast again and raised there game and score two tries, both converted to lead 21-7. This was a really hard fought game, stung by the two tries Southwold fought back and Joe ran through to score his maiden try, 21-12 with about ten to go but Stowmarket scored virtually straight away and the kick was good to make it 28-12, however Southwold will play to the end and they pushed hard for a score. A moment of controversy next as a Stowmarket player told by the ref not to tackle as he was offside but he ignored this to stop the wold player just before the line, surely a penalty try but no just a yellow card and the chance was lost. Just before the end a kick through was collected superbly by Callum to score and Jesse converted on the second attempt, the second attempt caused by the bad sportsmanship on the sideline trying to put him off as he kicked.

Final score 28-19 but a lot of credit to Wold as they all p.here hearts out. Arthur replacing Finney as scrumhalf when he was injured had a fantastic game .against bigger players the scrum was impressive losing just one of there own. Clever dummy from Louis and strong play from the Freds. Thanks to to Josh for boosting the squad numbers and he did well on the wing. Lots of strong play from the rest of team and Jesse did well with a damaged hand.
