Wold u14`s welcomed Mistley & Harwich to St Felix school for a second round cup match. A full squad was available which gave us the luxary of substitutes.

Wold scored almost immediately from kick off as Jesse powered through to score, the conversion was missed but it was not long before Freddie L run through to score the second try and Callum converted and the score was 12-0. The game then got incredibly messy as both teams fought hard for a breakthrough , scrum after scrum were fought before with the last play of the first half M&H scored and converted. Southwold had taken there feet off the gas with the two early tries and really let the visitors back into the game.

However as we know this team is of stronger stuff this season, the second half was very different and after a good team talk from Matt and Nick the coaches , Wold raised there game again to score seven more tries without reply, George scored first and then Sav, Sam followed this and then Callum, George got his second and then his third, Callum finished the try scoring with his second, Freddie L scored four conversions and Freddie P one. Final score 57-7 and it really was a fantastic second half performance.

Credit to the visitors they kept going to the final whistle but Wold were very strong, there was some powerful forward play, Will, Arthur and Charlie were strong in the ruck. Jessie, Sav and the Freds were constantly involved and the backs showed some impressive handling at times. Credit mustgo to the whole team and that new spirit for this season was very clearly on display, Joe made his debut and showed that he will be a good addition to the squad.
